QR-K — Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Bow Digital Ltd (“Bow Digital”, “we”, “us”) handles information in relation to the QR-K mobile application for iOS (the “App”). QR‑K is built so that we do not collect personal data from the App itself (no analytics or other data collection SDKs; no Bow Digital cloud backend for App content). It is intended to meet common App Store requirements, including Apple’s privacy expectations and the privacy details you provide in App Store Connect.
For privacy practices relating to our website, see our general Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
The data controller for personal data processed in connection with the App is Bow Digital Ltd. For privacy enquiries about QR-K, contact us at privacy@bow-digital.uk (or contact@bow-digital.uk).
2. Summary
- QR-K is built to scan and create QR codes and barcodes for your own use.
- Camera and photo library (if you use it) are used only to scan or read codes; processing happens entirely on your device. Bow Digital does not receive scans, camera footage, or photos from the App.
- The App does not include third‑party analytics, crash‑reporting, or advertising SDKs. We do not collect usage, analytics, or crash data from the App on our servers.
- We do not sell your personal information or use your data for third‑party advertising in the App.
3. Categories of data and purposes
The App is designed so that Bow Digital does not collect personal data from the App itself — there is no account, no cloud backend operated by us for App content, and no data‑collection SDKs. The following describes what happens on your device and the only routine processing we perform outside the App (support email).
3.1 Camera and scanning
If you grant camera permission, the App uses the camera feed to detect and decode QR codes and barcodes. Decoding runs locally on your device. We do not transmit your camera feed or scan results to Bow Digital.
3.2 Photos / media (if you use import features)
If you choose to decode codes from images in your photo library, the App reads image data only as needed to decode barcodes. That processing stays on your device; we do not upload your images or library to our servers.
3.3 Content and data you create in the App
Items you create or save in QR-K (for example generated codes, groups, or labels) are stored only on your device. The App does not sync this data to Bow Digital servers, and we do not operate iCloud sync, user accounts, or other cloud backends for App data. If we ever introduce cloud or account features, we will update this policy before they go live and, where required, obtain your consent.
3.4 Diagnostics and analytics
QR‑K does not integrate third‑party analytics, crash‑reporting, attribution, or advertising SDKs. We do not collect analytics, usage statistics, or crash reports from the App on our own systems. Apple may provide developers with aggregated or anonymised crash or operational information through App Store / platform tools (for example in App Store Connect); that is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not by us collecting data inside the App.
3.5 Support communications
If you choose to email us for support, we process your email address and message content to respond to your request and, if needed, for a short period for follow‑up. This is the main situation in which Bow Digital processes personal data in connection with QR‑K. We do not use support emails for marketing unless you opt in.
4. Legal bases (UK / EEA)
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on:
- Legitimate interests / performance at your request — answering support emails you send us.
- Consent — where we ask for it (for example future optional features), which you may withdraw.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information by law.
Because we do not collect personal data from the App itself, most processing relates only to voluntary contact you initiate (for example support).
5. Sharing and subprocessors
We do not use analytics, crash, or advertising SDKs in QR‑K, and we do not pass App usage data to subprocessors for those purposes. If you email us, your message may be processed using ordinary email or hosting providers acting on our instructions. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
6. International transfers
Data you send by email may be processed or stored on systems located outside the UK or EEA. Where that happens and the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses). Data that remains only on your device is not transferred internationally by Bow Digital through the App.
7. Retention
Information stored in the App stays on your device until you delete it or remove the App. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and for any short legal or administrative follow‑up, then deleted or archived according to our internal policies.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we encourage you to keep your device and iOS updated.
9. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data;
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Data portability, where applicable;
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, contact privacy@bow-digital.uk.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in‑app or on our website where appropriate.
